The camera opens up to show Bobbi Jackson walking into the Project X gym late in the day. The Rising Phoenix was looking to get in a little training in preparation for her match against the Queen’s Court at WWR’s New Years Revolution. As she approached the locker room, she placed her hand on the door, only to stop. From the other side of the door could be heard quiet sobbing. Bobbi looked confused. There wasn’t another car in the lot when she’d arrived. She slowly pushed open the door and poked her head in to find Super Tiger sitting there, head in her hands, crying.
Bobbi: Hey Tiger… what’s wrong, hun...?
Tiger looks up, a bit startled at Bobbi’s appearance as she sniffles, wiping her eyes. She picks up her phone, and hands it to Bobbi without a word. There’s an email from a name that Bobbi doesn’t recognize, being a private one. Bobbi’s eyes scan the email, reading it quickly as Tiger stares at the floor.
- Ms. Tiger-
You visited my daughter at the Children’s Hospital last week in accordance with her Make-A-Wish. She was so happy to meet you! She loved all of your gifts, and really enjoyed just getting to sit with you and ask you all about wrestling and living in Japan. That was the happiest I’d seen her in months. You asked that we keep you updated on her condition.
It breaks my heart to tell you that she finally succumbed to her illness very early this morning. The doctor’s say it happened while she was asleep, and we were notified right away, but there was nothing they could possibly do.
We wanted you to know that in her last few days you were all she could talk about. She never took off the t-shirt you gave her. She only took off the mask to eat! She was so happy that you’d called her her friend, and for that we can’t thank you enough.-
At the bottom of the email is a signature, but Bobbi sets the phone down, wiping tears from her own eyes as she sits down on the bench next to Tiger. She puts her arm over the little luchadora, who in turn leans into the hug, wrapping her arms around Bobbi and crying into her shoulder.
Bobbi: Oh hun. I'm SO sorry...I really am...
Tiger cries for a little bit, Bobbi comforting her before the sobs slow, then stop.
Bobbi: This part of what we do? It really sucks... But hun, that little girl was very sick and you made her the happiest she could have ever been in her finals days. You were her hero. She could have asked for anything, but she KNEW you would be able to come in and cheer her up. That is what you need to carry in your heart from all of this.
Tiger: I just thought… the doctor’s said she was getting stronger and she was showing signs of improvement…
Bobbi sighs.
Bobbi: Unfortunately hun, things like this happen. A lot of those kinds of sicknesses can go from looking like they’re nearly gone to being twice as bad in the blink of an eye. It's impossible to predict.
Tiger looks up at Bobbi, her eyeliner runny under her mask. She’d obviously been crying for a while.
Tiger: What do I do now? I feel like I lost someone very dear to me…
Bobbi: You did, hun. You opened your heart up to that little girl. You brought her into your family. And now that kiddo will always be with you. She's part of you now. Her parents...pretty much members of your extended family now. That's the impact you had on their lives. So you wanna know what I’d do if I were in your shoes?
Tiger nods.
Bobbi: Show her parents just how much she meant to you. Talk to them and let them know that you and Aura will go out there and win that match, and you’ll do it for their little girl. Let them know that she's still in your heart and show them that your time you spent with her meant as much to you as it meant to all of them.
Tiger gives a shaky smile.
Tiger: Hai, Bobbi-sensei. I will do it for her.
Bobbi pats Tiger on the back.
Bobbi: I know you will hun. You're stronger than you know. Are you going to be okay...?
Tiger nods, wiping her face with her forearm. Bobbi nods with a faint smile, the best she can muster in a time like this.
Bobbi: I'm glad I stopped by now to be honest. I was just gonna get some training in before the show. I didn’t think anyone else was here...
Tiger: Could… could I spar with you Bobbi-sensei? I need to do something instead of just sit here and read that email and look at those pictures over and over again.
Bobbi ponders for a moment and nods.
Bobbi: Sure thing hun. I wouldn’t mind the company myself. Let’s get your face cleaned up and head to the ring, okay?
Bobbi takes a towel out of her bag as Tiger begins to remove her mask, the camera fading to black.
