(Note: The bulk of these rules are borrowed from our friends at HYBRID. Give them a look at hybrid.freeforums.net!)
We like to keep things pretty simple here at WWR and save the complicated stuff for promos, segments and shows. That being said, there are a few guidelines and rules that we’d like everyone to keep in mind as they share in the fun. They’re mostly common sense stuff, but the world being what it is… why take chances? As needs require, more may be added to this list as time goes on. When in doubt, please ask an admin.
Standard Rules
1. Player Interaction: We do not practice discrimination of any kind here. No matter who you are, what you are, where you come from or anything else, everyone gets a fair chance in WWR. We like to keep a very ‘treat others how you would like to be treated’ mentality.
2. Questions and Concerns: The staff has an open door policy. If you have any questions, concerns or problems that you want addressed, feel free to send a PM (over the forums) or a DM (over Twitter) and we’ll be happy to hear you out and work with you to get things right.
3. What You Put In: Effort equals opportunity here. Yes, this is an angled fed and, yes, staff has final say over how storylines and matches pan out, but effort still counts and that means submitting non-required segments, tweeting and more. Offer up ideas for storylines, whether they involve your characters or not, or even just feedback on how things are going. Chances are we'll be able to put some of it to use. As staff, we want to give everyone a chance to shine, but those who show the drive to be on top are the first ones we're going to consider when deciding on who goes where.
4. No One Likes A Jackass: We’re a pretty laid back group of people here. We like to laugh and throw jokes around and all that jazz. But there are limits and outright belligerence or insulting behavior won’t be tolerated, be it in a chat group, on Twitter or elsewhere. As with anything else, if there’s a problem, contact the staff and we’ll sort things out.
5. Win Some, Lose Some: Match judgments are final. The price to be paid with angled matches is that it's up to the creative team to decide what works best for the plans they have in mind for the shows. More than once we have had issues with people who did not think they should have lost matches, people who personally attacked the staff when they did not get their way. This will not be tolerated and the offender will be immediately removed from the company. We do not expect that this will be as much of an issue with the move to angled status, but it is still a possibility. If you ask why you lost, you will be given the reasoning of the creative team and that will be that. Losses happen. That's life.
6. You're In Or You're Out: When it comes to angled feds, communication is vital. Handlers will be contacted with frequency when it comes to storylines and matches to ensure that details are proper and that the handlers can offer their own thoughts and input on things. For obvious reasons, we can't use all the offered ideas, but they will be taken into account. This does, however, lead to two important details that must be noted: firstly, if you are writing a match or otherwise know the result of one for storyline purposes, that result is not to be posted via promo or social media before the posting of the show. To do so is considered a serious infraction. Secondly, if you decide that you no longer want to participate in WWR, please let a staff member know either via Twitter, board PM, or some other means. Otherwise, your character will continue to be booked.
Show Standards
1. WWR typically runs one show every two weeks. Battleground runs on Tuesday nights, with Supershows also appearing on Tuesday nights.
2. We endeavor to have cards up for the following weekend's shows no later than the Thursday following, though at times we may have to push on to the Monday after.
3. When submitting segments or matches, the deadline for both Battleground and Supershows is the day before (Monday). If for some reason you are slated to write and cannot get your material in on time, please notify the staff as soon as possible.
4. For Supershows, we will post a sign-up sheet for people to pick a spot for segments that they submit and to formally sign up for match writing. When it comes to Battleground, the staff will inquire directly if they require matches written and segments for the Battleground show can often be submitted outright with no need to inform the staff prior.
